Abstract

The current investigation is to formulate and develop enteric coated tablet of Ropinirole Hydrochloride. Enteric coated tablets were prepared by Wet Granulation method by using water as solvent. To protect drug from acid Eudragit L-100 was used as enteric coated polymer. Drug, Excipient and Polymer compatibility studies were performed by FTIR and DSC. The formulation was optimized with desirable Hardness, Friability and Disintegration time. Tablet exhibited Hardness between 5.1–5.8 Kg/Cm2, Friability 0.09–0.21%, Disintegration time 40–60 minutes and drug release between 78–95.56%. Optimized formula F4 showing the Friability 0.13%, Hardness 5.5 Kg/Cm2 and drug release 95.56%. Drug diffusion study was represented graphically.
