The objective of this study is to develop a mathematical prediction model for type 2 diabetes based on six chosen risk factors: Obesity, Hypertension, Age, Socioeconomic Status, Physical inactivity, and Family History utilizing published medical literature from 1970 to 2017.
the study provided numeric values for six chosen risk factors that have a direct impact on type 2 diabetes based on the severity.
A mathematical equation was developed to predict the remaining years to have type 2 diabetes. Moreover, validation showed that adjusting patient's modifiable risk factors will positively affect the remaining predicted years to develop type 2 diabetes.
T2DP model is a promising tool to predict the remaining years to develop type 2 diabetes. However, it was developed and validated on a theoretical level, and further validation is needed.
