Nine actinobacteria were isolated from the mangrove soil of Bhitarkanika and screened for their bioactive metabolites and antimicrobial property. Out of the nine actinobacterial isolates, the bacterial isolateBAB-7 showed positive activity towards most of the enzymesscreened,i.e., Cellulase, phosphate solubilization, L-asparaginase, protease, and amylase. The actinobacterial isolate BAB-7 also exhibited antimicrobial activity against K. pneumoniae, V. alginolyticus, V. parahaemolyticus, P. aeruginosa,E. coli, S. typhimurium, and S. salivarius. Based on biochemical characterization, the actinobacterial isolate BAB-7 was identified as Steptomcessp. The secondary metabolites produced by the bacterial strain were analyzed through GC-mass spectroscopy and found to besimilar to the peaks of2-cyclohex-3-en-1-yl-2-oxoacetic acid derivative (ketomycin).
