Cholesterol is a chemical that is naturally created by the liver but can also be present in animal-based meals like meat and milk. Cholesterol is required by the body for the formation of healthy cells, the production of several hormones, and the production of vitamin D. Although cholesterol is necessary for the body, high levels can be harmful to one's health, hence therapy to lower cholesterol levels using natural products or the aid of bacterial metabolism is required.
