Abstract

Active substances found in red fruit extract (Pandanus conoideus Lamk.) and red betel leaf (Piper crocatum Ruiz and Pav) exhibit antioxidant and blood sugar-lowering properties. The goal of this investigation is to pinpoint the chemical components of red fruit and red betel leaf extract, the combination of red fruit and red betel leaf in the form of capsule powder, and the dosage of the combination that effectively lowers mice's blood sugar levels. In this study, four test groups were used: a comparison group (K1), a treatment group that received amounts of red fruit extract and red betel leaf from formulas 1 and 2, respectively, and formula 3 (K4). Duncan's test was employed after one way ANOVA data processing. Chemical analysis results showed that red fruit extract and red betel leaf extract, respectively, included 60 and 76 possible components. The outcomes produced three capsule powder formula with moisture contents of 3.5% (F1), 5.02% (F2), and 6.8%, respectively (F3). According to the results of the One Way ANOVA data analysis and Duncan's test, it can be seen that the treatment groups can affect blood sugar levels with a significant value of 0.002<0.05. Formula 3, which includes a concentration of 35% red fruit extract and 30% red betel leaf extract, is the most effective in lowering blood sugar levels in mice.
