Abstract

Cardiovascular disorders are most common in today’s era. One of the most important causes of cardiovascular diseases is hypercholesterolemia. In recent years develop a new and novel combination drug for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia has rosuvastatin and bempedoic acid. Rosuvastatin is a new generation fully synthetic HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor. Rosuvastatin's methane-sulphonamide group is polar, allowing it to have low lipophilicity and a stronger interaction with the 5-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase enzyme. An increase in LDL-C reduction is associated with a greater reduction in cardiovascular events. A pro-drug bempedoic acid is an adenosine triphosphate-citrate (ATP) lyase inhibitor. Chemically, it is 8-hydroxy-2, 2, 14, 14-tetramethylpentadecanedioic acid. This review focuses on analytical techniques such as spectrophotometric, chromatographic, hyphenated, and electrochemical methods for the estimation of rosuvastatin and bempedoic acid alone or in combination with other drugs. This review gives information for future prospective studies for a researcher.
