Ebastine is a long-acting nonsedating second-generation antihistamine used for the treatment of allergic conditions such as hay fever, chronic idiopathic urticaria etc. New UV spectrophotometric methods have been developed for the estimation of Ebastine in tablet dosage forms in Acetate buffer (pH 4.0), Phosphate buffer (pH 2.0) and Hydrochloric acid solutions and the methods were validated as per ICH guidelines. SHIMADZU Model UV-1800 Double beam UV-VIS spectrophotometer was used for the present study. The proposed methods are simple, economical and can be successfully applied for the assay of Ebastine in pharmaceutical dosage forms.
