The engaging and fragrant blossoms of Buddleja led researchers to exploit them commercially in ornamental gardens and landscaping. Buddlejas are widely used in the horticultural business and are marketable plants, several robust and innovative hybrids have been created to highlight their economic worth. Due to their utility in decorative landscaping, numerous hybridization and breeding programs have been carried out globally to produce distinct, novel, and patentable plant cultivars. In addition to being utilized in horticulture and ecology, they have been used ethnopharmacologically for various illnesses. This article is the first of its kind highlighting the applications of Buddleja in hybridization, patenting, and therapeutics.
