Alprazolam with a molar solution of metallic nitrate has reacted to generate the complexes of Mn (II) and Cr (III). The molar solution of metallic nitrate and ligand (AP) was mixed in a 1:1 ratio. The complex formation takes place at room temperature. “The complexes have the predicted formula [(L)M(NO3)2], [(L)M(NO3)3] where M = Mn (II) and Cr (III) and L = AP “[Alprazolam]”. Bidentate and tridentate metal complexes were observed to have "N (1)" and "N (4)" positions on the ligands. An elemental analysis of complexes restricted to their stoichiometry. In the study, AP (alprazolam) and its complexes were examined against selected bacteria and fungi for their antimicrobial properties. Metal complexes showed greater antimicrobial activity than alprazolam in the current study.
