It has started gaining popularity and acceptance as new drug delivery system because they are easy to administer and lead to better patient compliance.Usually elder people experience difficulty in swallowing the conventional dosage form because of tremors and dysphagia. One such approach is rapid dissolving tablet a major claim of the RDT is increased bioavailability compared to traditional tablet. They involve different mechanisms like use of superdisintegrant which allow the dosage form to disintegrate rapidly in the patient mouth on contact with saliva.
