Abstract

One simple, economical, precise, reliable and reproducible Visible Spectrophotometric Method has been developed for the estimation of Milnacipran (MCP) in bulk as well as in capsule formulations. The developed Method was based on the formation of chloroform extractable complex of Milnacipran with Bromocresol Green (BCG) which shows maximum absorption at 412nm. The absorbance-concentration plot is linear over the range 50–500μg/ml. The different experimental parameters effecting the development and stability were studied carefully and optimized. A result of analysis for the method was validated statistically and recovery studies were performed.
