The present work was evaluated anti-ulcer potential of the ethanol extract of leaf of Lawsonia inermis against in vivo indomethacin-induced gastric ulcer using pylorus ligation method. All the dose of the leaf extract (100, 200 and 400 mg/kg) significantly (P□0.01) reduced the ulcer index in this experiment. In conclusion, the present study provides preliminary data on the antiulcer potential of Trianthema portulacastrum leaf and support the traditional uses of the plant for the treatment of gastric ulcer.
