Abstract

A Simple, rapid, accurate and precise reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography method has been developed and validated for simultaneous estimation of Cetirizine hydrochloride and Phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride in tablet dosage form. The chromatography system used a reversed phase C18 column with UV-VIS detection at 254nm. Mobile phase consisted of water: methanol: triethylamine (20:80:0.5v/v/v) pH 3.5 adjusted with orthophosphoric acid at flow rate 1mL/min. The calibration curve was linear in concentration range of 5–40 μg/mL for Cetirizine hydrochloride and 40–100μg/mL for Phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride.
