Abstract

A rapid, simple and accurate RP-HPLC method was developed for the estimation of bupropion hydrochloride, using C18 column 250 x 4.6 mm i.d, 5 μm particle size in gradient mode, with mobile phase comprising of phosphate buffer (pH 4.0) and methanol. The flow rate was 1 mL min−1 and the detection wavelength was 252 nm. The retention time for bupropion hydrochloride was found to be 11.52 min. The proposed method was validated as per ICH (Q2R1) guideline with respect to the parameters viz., linearity, precision, accuracy, robustness, limit of detection and limit of quantification.
