The ethanol extract of bark of Aspidosperma quebraco-blanco (300mg/kg p.o.) was assessed for anti-inflammatory activity in animals using carrageenan-induced paw oedema and cotton pellet-induced granuloma models. The ethanol extract of bark of Aspidosperma quebraco-blanco (300mg/kg p.o.) significantly inhibited the carrageenan induced paw oedema at 3rd and 4th hr and in cotton pellet model it reduced the transudative weight and little extent of granuloma weight. The results show that the ethanol extract of bark of Aspidosperma quebraco-blanco has an anti-inflammatory activity.
