To compare oral candidal flora of diabetics and non-diabetics.
Candida albicans is commensal yeast normally present in small numbers in the oral flora of a large population of humans. Overgrowth of this fungus results in candidiasis. Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder resulting in elevated blood sugar levels. People with diabetes are particularly susceptible to developing candida infections because the elevated blood sugar levels provide an ideal environment for the fungus to grow.
To gain knowledge about candidal speciation in diabetics and non diabetics.
