The current investigation deals with new potential Marine Actinobacterial candidates having antimicrobial potential against Human pathogens viz E.coli MTCC 443, S.aureus MTCC 96, E.faecalis MTCC 439, K.pneumoniae MTCC 39 and C.albicans MTCC 183. Totally, 21 Morphologically Diverse group of Marine Actinobacteria were isolated on ISP-2 medium from Dumas beach, Surat-Gujarat. The isolated 21 Marine Actinobacterial strains were screened for antimicrobial activity against all the Human pathogens by Modified Cross-Streak Method. Totally 8 Marine Actinobacteria showed inhibitory activity against Human pathogens. Out of 8 Marine Actinobacteria AMET y544 showed maximum inhibitory zone against Human pathogens in agar well diffusion assay. AMET y544 was subjected to series of biochemical tests which confirmed AMET y544 as streptomyces sp. according to International Streptomyces project. Further, AMET y544 was selected for mass production of antimicrobial compound. The active antimicrobial metabolite was extracted using ethyl acetate in 1:1(v/v) at pH 8. The separation of active antimicrobial metabolite and its purification was done using column chromatography technique. The purified antimicrobial compound fraction was concentrated in rotary vacuum evaporator. The concentrated compound was re-suspended in DCM. The purified compound showed maximum zone of inhibition against K.pneumoniae MTCC 39 as 32 mm. The purified compound was analyzed using GC-MS.
