Abstract

The plasticulture technology helps In Improving the crop yield and quality, growing offseason crops and enhancing the shelf life of fresh vegetable production. But to take the full advantage of plasticulture technology Its proper Implementation Is very important. In this manuscript, a scope and Importance of low cost detachable polyhouse has been discussed to Implement these technology In the state of Jharkhand. Study Indicated the utilization of detachable roof type poly house In the state for cultivation of tomato/capsicum round the year using a covered material In whole structure (except roof, but the roof was covered with UV stabilized film 200 micron), polyhouse (November-February), rain shelter (July-October) and shade net (March-June). The cost of construction of low cost detachable polyhouse was found Rs. 278 per m2. It also protects from damages due to hail, strong winds, heavy rain, insect etc.
