The development of the "green economy" plays a leading role in ensuring sustainable economic development in developing countries including Uzbekistan as well. The rational use of limited, non-renewable economic resources is going to increasing energy efficiency. The strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the transition to a "green economy" in 2019-2030 provides for the long-term priority of our country’s entry into the developed world in the context of limited, non-renewable economic resources to increase energy efficiency and rational use of natural resources. The article examines the state, structure and prospects of renewable energy consumption development. A comparative analysis of international experience in the development of green energy has been carried out and opportunities for their use in Uzbekistan have been identified too.
