Abstract

Performance appraisal is an analysis of an employee's recent successes and failures, personal strengths and weaknesses, and suitability for promotion or further training. It is also the judgement of an employee's performance in a job based on considerations other than productivity alone. Performance appraisal of an employee is important in managing the human resources of an organization. In this paper, we explain the modern methods used in the organization for appraise the performance. If the organization use the wrong methods or ineffective in performance appraisal, then it would very much affect the employees rewards, future carrier path and also affect the growth of the organization. So we portray the problems in the performance appraisal and also give suggestion for an effective performance appraisal in the theoretical way based on in this field experts’ ideas
