Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act (RTE)-2009 is a new law passed by parliament for achieving the goal of Universalisation of Elementary Education (UEE). For achieving the goal of UEE, a pupil teacher can play an important role because they are teacher of the future generation and success of any educational programme depends upon the teachers. Thus, the present paper is an attempt to know the awareness of pupil teachers regarding Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act (RTE)-2009. For ascertaining the extent of level of awareness of pupil teachers, a self development questionnaire, containing 40 statements was used. Besides government, policy makers, Educational Administrators, this paper has implications for teachers and institutions of Teacher Education and calls for the complete awareness regarding the RTE Act-2009 and provisions thereof
