Career Maturity of Adolescents in Relation to their Intelligence

Abstract

The present study was an attempt to find out the career maturity of adolescents in relation to their intelligence. A sample of 100 students (50 male and 50 male adolescents) from Rohtak district was taken as a sample on the basis of random sampling method. Career maturity inventory (CMI) by Nirmala Gupta and mixed type group test of intelligence by P.N. Mehrotra were used to collect the data. The mean, Standard Deviation and ‘-test were used to analyse the difference. The findings of the study reveal: (i) significant difference in career maturity of male and female adolescents; (ii) significant difference was found in career maturity of adolescents having low and high intelligence. Adolescents having high intelligence were more mature about their career as compared to adolescents having low intelligence and (iii) significant relationship was found between career maturity and intelligence of adolescents.
