In teaching learning process, so many innovative methods have been evolved by the educationists. The ALM approach is one of the effective teaching methods at primary and upper primary levels. This method helps in developing creative thinking, divergent thinking, skills and social relations among the students. In order to study the effectiveness of this approach, the investigator has made an attempt to investigate this study. In this study, 70 students have been taken (experimental group 35 and control group 35 students); parallel group design was employed and found that the ALM approach is more effective than the traditional approach in enhancing the academic achievement of students in learning social science at VIII standard level.
