Abstract

Personalities do not exist in vacuum but to a large extent depend upon social environment. It is society that makes individual cultured. Almost everything that he learns is acquired from society. Only the capacity of learning is his own. It is in society that his ago develops whereby he is called human being. Developing social competencies in this domain enhance a person's ability to succeed in school as well as positively influence mental health, success in work, and the ability to be a citizen in a democracy. Social skills are important for preparing young people to mature and succeed in their adult roles within the family, workplace, and community. The main purpose of this paper is to study the dependence of social skills on the Gender, Caste and type of family.
