Education plays a pivotal role in shaping the social and economic development of a society. To meet the challenges and demands of the contemporary society, our education system needs to focus on nurturing of competence among the learners. Teacher educators must have a calibre in preparing a teacher force, which is capable of dwelling beyond content knowledge, and through their porous pedagogical practices are accessible to all groups of children. There is a dire need of nurturing the skills among the teacher educators like the quest for research and multidisciplinary knowledge, positive attitude for digital awareness and competence, dignity for lifelong learning, readiness to accept globalization, sense of leadership qualities etc. Teacher educators should thrust on their capacity development, by focussing on integrating content with pedagogy through technology. The personality enrichment of teacher educators with competent skills demands them to be well versed in all the targeted realms of knowledge and skill. In a global setup, an exponentially changing contemporary society relies upon functional knowledge economy that demands strong technology infusion to substantiate it.
