According to Swami Vivekananda, “Education is manifestation of perfection already in man.” Every individual has the potential to do better. Education is related with 3H-head, hand and heart. Head is for intellectual ability, hand for doing with perfection and heart for doing feeling. Education coordinated well the three H's of the learner i.e. head, heart and hand. It takes care of the intellectual and emotional growth and development of skills. “Education does not mean teaching people to know what they do not know; it means teaching them to behave as they do not behave” worded by Ruskin. Education then must also help us to understand our emotions in order to give us this kind of conscious control over them. Moral Education and value Education were the originator of Education for Peace. Peace embodies the joy of living. Joy is the essence of life. Education for peace seeks to nurture the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that comprise a culture of peace. Peace Education is different from education for Peace. In former, Peace becomes the shaping vision of education. In the latter, Peace is subject in the syllabus. Education for Peace is Education for life equipping in the individual with values, skills, attitudes they needs to be developed for the people to live in harmony with each other. Value education is subsumed in education for people, but is not identical with it. In simple word peace means absence of violence. On a daily basis the teachers are saying that the children are becoming increasingly violent. Their taste and game are violent. But are they to be blamed entirely when they see violence everywhere. Now the question arises that, are we providing such education to the students to be more resilient and non violent. Needless to say those teachers are role model for them. A famous thought is “What I teach is what I know and what I educate is what I am.” A teacher most important responsibility is to help students to become good human being who work for the betterment of self and society. Through this paper author is trying to suggest few emotional intelligence strategies for understanding himself/herself and understand the students in better way. This paper also gives an insight of how high emotional intelligence teacher are in a better position to deepen the aspect of peace in the students.
