NEP 2020 recommends character and value development as a prime goal of education to be in focus now like never before, especially at the primary level to tap the numerous possibilities available at that age as the grasping is fast and the initial imprints are carried forward and strengthened further in life. The Values as explained by the theory are seen as preferences in thought and action of an individual that may depend on the thinking/Intelligence of an individual due to the involved decision-making in choice. Teachers play a role model in facilitating the value development in students hence, the individual and joint contribution of Primary teachers’ multidimensional Intelligence in predicting their values needs to be studied. Looking at the paucity of such a study, this research explores the individual and joint contribution of Emotional, Rational and Spiritual Intelligence in predicting vital Values of Primary Teachers, to reflect upon the output of the current teacher education system and guide the changes needed in it. The sample comprised 93 primary Teachers from M.P. The data were collected using the Emotional Intelligence tool by Pant and Prakash, Jalota’s Group Mental Ability test, Raven’s S.P.M., the researcher developed Spiritual Intelligence Scale, P.V.Q. by Sherry and Verma. Statistical techniques used for data analysis were Multiple Correlations and Step-Wise Regression. The findings of the study show significant but low individual and joint contributions in predicting values. The implications are discussed in the context of the Indian and Western context of an understanding of the human psyche.
