This paper aims to understand the antecedents of Bollywood movie success in India. This is a conceptual paper based on primary data and secondary data available from published work related to movie success. The research design employed is exploratory research design. The research paper is qualitative in nature; data collected with the help of in-depth interviews. The major antecedents are the budget of the movie, trailers of the movie, movie sequel, lead actor and actress, production house, critics’ rating, IMDB ratings, tweet ratings, social media, and promotional campaign influences the success of Bollywood movies.
