Abstract

Nowadays, the business environment is constantly evolving and overwhelmingly becoming complex, where competent leadership has emerged as a major factor that contributes to organisational success. Transformational leadership (TL) has originated as a potential approach for hospitals navigating and responding to their ever-changing, complex challenges. The present study investigates the association between studied variables using quantitative methodologies such as Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) and Partial Least Squares (PLS) methods. The results obtained from the survey conducted among hospital nurses at the government hospital in Dindori, Shadol, Anuppur, and Umariya District of Madhya Pradesh (MP) conclude that there is a significant relationship between transformational leadership (TL) and both organisational commitment (OC) and work performance (WP). However, it is essential to note that the mediation effect of OC in the relationship between TL and WP is not found to be statistically significant. TL has been found to impact employee commitment and engagement positively. It is essential to note that the direct influence of TL on WP is also found to be significant.
