Abstract

Technology has impacted human life, which has started a transformation of perspective in the financial industry. These days, the financial industry is also booming with the help of technology and is leading towards more upgrades. The collaboration of technology and the financial industry has coined the new term ‘Fintech,’ which refers to the financial service-providing companies working with technology. This collaboration has opened multiple doors that were closed due to the challenges of coverage and cost. Here, the banking sector is not untouched by the privilege of this industry. Fintech companies have emerged as helping aids to the banking sector as they reduce the burden on banks and provide more coverage. This study focuses on the linkage between the banking sector and fintech companies. It tries to find whether these companies are acting as help or creating more challenges for the banking industry. For this purpose, the impact of mobile banking has been analyzed on Return on Assets and Net Interest Margin to evaluate whether mobile banking is contributing to better performance or not. With the help of the data, it has been found that fintech companies are facilitating the banking industry in increasing their outreach to the unserved society.
