Abstract

This study focuses on analysing the industrial performance in terms of selected economic indicators for manufacturing factories. The study involves analysing the performance of large-scale industries and assessing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on industries in Odisha. The objectives of the study are: analysing the manufacturing industry performance in Odisha with selected economic indicators between FY 2012-13 and FY 2019-20, and assessing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on industries in Odisha. A descriptive type of research design is adopted, which follows an analytical type of research. Data used for the study is in secondary form, which is retrieved from various secondary sources online. This includes annual reports of the economic survey from the Government of Odisha, the Reserve Bank of India, research papers from journals, and news articles, etc. Analysing the data follows tables, graphs, and the use of a statistical tool for regression analysis in SPSS to get the results and evaluate them for interpretation. It is found that manufacturing industries showed positive growth pre-COVID-19, but its impact brought huge losses to the state’s economy.
