Abstract

This research examined how customers’ perceptions of quality in electronic appliances influence their buying decisions. The study focused on refrigerators and televisions, analyzing whether aspects such as design quality and functional performance impact consumers’ confidence in and loyalty toward these products within North Central Nigeria. Using a survey methodology informed by triangulation principles, the researchers gathered data from 350 participants distributed across the seven administrative areas of North Central Nigeria, employing convenience sampling for participant selection. Questionnaires were used to collect information, which was then analyzed using Linear Regression via SPSS 22. The findings demonstrated that both design quality and performance quality of refrigerators and televisions significantly and positively influenced consumer purchase decisions through increased trust and brand loyalty. The research recommends that manufacturers prioritize product development and quality improvements as key tactics for gaining new customers and maintaining longterm business relationships.
