Abstract

India and China both the counties are highly populous and started their development process almost at the same time and both the counties had very high initial poverty levels. But if we look at the all development indicators of these two countries we find a lot of difference between the two. The development initiatives of China could be more relevant for India rather than policies undertaken by developed European and North American countries, as China is a latest success example of a large over populous illiterate Asian country who achieved success in a very well planned manner in a very short period of time. While the European and North American counties did it in a long period of time. This paper is an attempt to analyze the comparative economic performance of India and China.
