Abstract

Work-life balance is one of the visible benchmarks among high-performing organizations that create good cultures and assist employees to achieve proper work life balance. As such, they will be rewarded with highly motivated and engaged employees. This paper presents a brief review of literature on work life balance, challenges, strategies, principles and the methods to overcome the challenges of work-life balance. In the present study an attempt has been made to identify and also analyze the conditions in connection with WLB of employees in the sample of different corporate enterprises selected for the study and also suggested few self management techniques & some measures to be taken up by the organizations to combat challenges of WLB in the corporate sector. Further it suggests that working organizations can increase employees’ satisfaction by providing more opportunities for team work and flexible schedules, developing a family friendly organizational culture and offering assistance with child care.
