All Women Police Stations, Family Support Units, Women's Desks and Women Cell are intended to provide an environment in which women victims of violence feel safer for registering their complaints and take steps towards seeking prosecution. They are often staffed exclusively by policewomen personnelor women are(as expected) specifically trained to deal with complainants of sexual crimes to build effective investigations. Policewomen arefacilitates to counter the under-reported crimes against women that is ubiquitous in patriarchal societies as well as their police services. In addition, policewomen work as an agent of social change, defender and protector among women victims. The presentstudy focuses on the gender discourse towards policewomen in a masculine centered profession. Specifically, the article discusses about the impact of women and men's socially constructed gender roles, behaviours, social positions and its reflection over policewomen and their ‘male centered profession'. Moreover, the research looks forward role of policewomen to articulate and encounter with crimes against women through their service and the unit of All Women Police Stations in India.
