India is one of the biggest country in the world. It occupies the second place in the size of the population and also nearly half of the populations are youngsters. It is painful to see that many people in modern times are eager to consume alcohol. It has become a major social problem of the country. Because it not only affects the person but also effects the entire situation of the family life as well as the society. Due to consuming alcohol the people's life is at danger. The impact of Alcohol consumption among the majortity of the younger citizens is going to be worrisome because it reduces the intelligence level of the people and productivity so they are going to have poor health condition also. The recent report on alcohoism shows that between 1950 to 1960 the average age of consuming alcohol begins from 23 to 36 in India. In 1980 to 1990, the report states that the average age of taking alcohol is 19 to 45. But at present it is below 19 years Therefore it is found that in the age of 16 and 17 years itself, young people are becoming alcoholic. If this trend continues for another 20 to 40 years, surely most of the people are going to be addicted to alcohol. This fact has to be given much importance to discuss at a higher level, so that some kind of urgent remedial measures can be taken to control the rate of growth of alcoholics. Where are we going? Seeing the existing fact what is the contribution of the learnered to the change the life of these adolosent young people. This question knocked the heart of the researcher to study deeply about the life of the alcoholics in society. The WHO gives statistical picture about the impact of alcohol in India. It says that 20 percent of alcoholics are not going to jobs. Forty percent of the road accidents are happening due to consumption of alcohol. It is also found that 50 percent of the rape offenders are alcoholics. 65 percent of children abuses are done by alcoholics. Thirty percent of rape victims are alcoholics. 72 percent of suicides are commited by alcoholics. The above said factors show that the alcohol influences people to behave abnormally.
