Abstract

Health care has emerged as one of the most progressive and largest service sectors in India. The study of job satisfaction is necessary on the basis of its potential value of understanding and in generating the positive outcomes from the hospital perspectives. The present study was conducted on the hospital employees as they are one of the most important stakeholders in hospitals to investigate the factors influencing their job satisfaction. Factor analysis was performed using principal component analysis method for extracting factors to establish characteristic components of the job satisfaction variables measured. By examining the extent of variability in the employees’ job satisfaction explained by the factors determined. The study was employed on a sample of 106 employees of the private hospitals of Manipur in India. Data were entered, edited and analyzed by using software SPSS English version 21 and applying the following descriptive statistics like mean, standard deviation and variance scores. A statistical technique such as factor analysis, correlation and regression analysis were used in the study. It is concluded that job satisfaction of employees were significantly association between the factors comprising year of working experience, marital status and professionwere a useful predictor of job satisfaction in their hospital.
