Job satisfaction is the ultimate word that reflects on the job performance and productivity of an employee. Teaching job is no an exception. There is a mushrooming of educational institutes with the privatization of education with a increased number of faculty strength. But the quality of the education is purely dependent on the faculty. The faculty can render his or her duties only if he or she got job satisfaction. The scenarios of the self-financed college lecturers are different from a permanent lecturer. Fulfilling the needs alone make the employee satisfied and thus the satisfied employee alone reach the job performance and productivity. Hence a study was carried on job satisfaction in relevance to Maslow's needs of the self-finance college faculty of Madurai city. Chi square test was used for the hypothesis testing. Results purely evinced that the self-financed lecturers were deprived of safety needs.
