Work motivation and organizational commitment of college teachers

Abstract

The present study was conducted to find the relationship between work motivation and organizational commitment of college teachers working in Gulbarga, Karnataka. Simple random sampling method was used to draw the samples from a population and Lottery method was used for selecting 52 samples. Data was collected using survey method by administering the tools Organizational Commitment Questionnaire and Work Motivation Questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using t-test and Pearson product moment correlation. The findings revealed that there is no significant relationship between work motivation and organizational commitment. It is also been found that work motivation level and organizational commitment of teachers do not show any significant difference with respect to their gender. The findings also revealed that Associate professors have high level of work motivation than Assistant professors.
