Abstract

Higher education from any foreign country has long been the most cherished goal for students of underdeveloped and developing countries including India. Traditionally, students from under-developed and developing countries have been traveling across seven seas in search of specialised higher education. In case of students from countries like India where sufficient facilities for further and higher education existed, students were encouraged to go abroad only for highly specialised courses on scholarships basis. Foreign universities also providing assistantships and scholarships for the bright students. There are some countries where facilities of higher education is lacking, in such cases the governments financed higher education of its citizens abroad. This paper emphasises the present scinario of Higher education and various challenges, looking into international perspectives.
