Abstract

Organizations invest a lot of time, money and energy to hire, coach and manage performances of their employees. At the end of the day an organization gets an identity and success only because of his employees. Therefore, there is nothing more challenging than to focus on employee retention and more upsetting to know that one of your team members is set to depart. Over the years a great emphasis has been led upon to understand the reasons for employees exit. In order to understand this HR practitioners, try to focus on the facts that come out as a result of exit interview. They do so due to the belief that an exit interview helps the organization to understand the reasons for voluntary employee turnover and also to gather the information which can help to improve individual and organizational performance. Exit interviews are conducted with employees, once they have resigned before they leave the company. Exit interviews are nevertheless a unique chance to survey and analyze the opinions of departing employees, who generally are more forthcoming, constructive therefore Exit is just as important as the procedures one uses while hiring. This article focuses on the concept of exit interviews, their purpose, who should conduct, how to conduct, when and where to conduct and also how to use the data collected from exit interviews for the benefit of the organization.
