Abstract

The present study was originated to determine the traditional cultivator socio-demographiccharacteristics and their relationship with status influences the annual production of the vegetable farming in Senapati Districtand to identify the existing production. The study was conducted at Senapati, a hill district inthe State of Manipur. Out of the total six blocks of the district, three blocks, namely, Tadubi, Paomata and Purul has been chosen purposively astraditional vegetable farming in the district. Eightvillages were selected from the three blocks in convenience to theresearchers. A total of 110 completed questionnaires could be collectedrandomly from respondents who held the major responsibility of traditional farming activity in the family from each of the 110 sample households of the eight villages. The data was administered using SPSS English Version 21 for analysis. Mean, S.D and Ranking has been calculated. Finally a conclusion was derived by calculating correlation, hypothesis testing Chi-square to predict the relationship between annual sales and the growth of vegetables cultivator of the respondents.
