Abstract

This study closely examines Covid-19 Pandemic as a global medical emergency and how it has engendered entrepreneurs to rethink their place and exploit this emergency to generate resources and wealth, thereby helping to contain the scourge and at the same time advancing the cause for human existence in Nigeria. The study is a position paper that focus on the preventive measures of Covid-19 as announced and the opportunities it portend for entrepreneurs in providing the necessary relieves through their ingenuity. The empirical analysis of covid-19 cases and worldwide were provided revealing the virus havoc on humanity. The study adopt Everett Hagen views of an entrepreneur as an opportunity problem solver, Kirzer’s postulation that entrepreneur subconsciously discovered an opportunity to earn money by buying resources or producing a good and selling it and Drucker assertion that entrepreneurs have an eye more for possibilities created by change than the problem. The study attempted to explore the relationship between Covid-19 pandemic, the independent variable and entrepreneurship as the dependent variable. The study reveals that the Covid-19 pandemic health issues created among other things, scarcity of goods and services globally which open the windows for business opportunities for creating new products and services. In conclusion, that the Covid-19 is real and nations, organizations and entrepreneurs are playing different roles to ameliorate the spread of the disease.
