In today’s technological era, chatbots have evolved tremendously in several domains, such as education, healthcare, e-commerce, financial services and many more. Chatbots make conversation feasible through the timely resolution of user inquiries with the help of computerisation. The appeal for E-commerce sprouted expeditiously among consumers as they prefer comfort and ease of time. As e-commerce is a proliferating industry that implements chatbots, it clutches a great chance to outreach customers. Therefore, this study strived to shed light on the chatbot’s evolution and demand prospects in e-commerce in India. This research is based on secondary data that include journals, online books, articles and websites of chatbot reports and the study is conceptual in nature. This study deduced that many e-commerce companies are already employing chatbots for their profit and there is still an opportunity for businesses to utilise all the ways that chatbots may aid in business expansion by outreaching a wide range of customers. This study is expected to assist marketers in the constructive performance of chatbot systems and academicians in their further research.
