Of late, in India, the concept empowerment of women has emerged as an important issue. A nation can said to be developed only when its women are given ample opportunities to grow and develop. Developing entrepreneurship among women will be right approach for women empowerment. Woman is equal to man only when she is empowered socially and economically. Women have become aware about their rights and duties and entered in different fields of business. They have established their own successful business empires. They are contributing to the growth of economy and improvement of their socio-economic conditions. The Government of India has given due importance to women empowerment in the country and several schemes have been introduced to encourage them to undertake entrepreneurship. Women workforce ratio in the country is increasing due to increase in women literacy rate in India. The present study concentrates on socio empowerment of women entrepreneurs.
