A study on investor's attitute towards selected investment avenues among professional women's.

Abstract

Women's play an important role in our country. In India there are 591.4 million women as against 628.8 million men as per the census 2011. According to Diane Marie child, “A woman is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform”. To identify the investment behavior among women investor's in Salem city, the study was executed. The major features of an investment are safety of principal amount, liquidity, income stability, appreciation and easy transferability. A variety of investment avenues are available such as shares, bank, gold and silver, real estate, life insurance, mutual fund, and so on. All the women investor's invest their surplus money in the above mentioned avenues based on their risk taking attitude. “No pain no gain” it is the golden principle of investment management. In this fast moving world, we can earn more and more money. More risk leads to more profit. Women investor's cannot avoid risk but they can minimize the risk by investing their money in various forms of investments so that they can get a moderate profit. The attitude of women investors would vary from time to time and person to person. The objective of investment of women investor's will also be different. All the women investor's invest their surplus money in the above mentioned avenues based on their risk taking attitude. Money committed or property acquired for future income.
