Compulsive use of smartphone and its effect on engaged learning and nomophobia

Abstract

The usage of Smartphone has been a 21st century phenomenon that attracts young generation for their usefulness and different functions. To fulfill these needs, this paper has two objectives. This study looks into the pattern of Smartphone usage among post graduate students of Management in India. Secondly, it examines the effect of compulsive Smartphone usage on engaged learning and perceived effect and implications of Smartphone on nomophobia among students. The result shows that the compulsive use of Smartphone has a significant effect on nomophobia whereas the study failed to establish any significant relationship between compulsive use and engaged learning.
