Abstract

The Chinese Philosopher, Confucius, stated that the goal of education was to produce men of quality who combined Competence with Virtue. The opportunities for graduates in the Service Sectors, have increased over the past one decade. However, many graduates remain without obs. Current technological and economic changes have created a challenging contejt for students. The xequirements of the Rorld of RorW kidentify a number of competencies“ ej pected from university graduates. ”lobaliGation has increased the pressure on companies, with an increasing need to effectively manage oneself and onezs clients. ’n brief, the institutions should mainly focus on development of Ia(” eneric SWills) Ib(;pplication SWills) and Ic(Soft SWills or Aife SWills, apart from their sub ects. The main ob ective of this paper is to try to highlight the industry needs ej pected from graduates such as basic oral and written communication sWills, basic computer sWills ILS Mffice, ’nternet, etc(, and a good worWplace attitude Icommitment and teamworW(. These sWills are prerequisites for landing the best available obs. Omployability is automatically increased if the students have good professional competencies.
