The purpose of this research is to explore the factors influencing the supplier selection and to find out the relationship between the identified factors and the firm's performance with reference to manufacturing industries selected in Coimbatore district. The research is of an empirical kind done through the data surveyed among 50 representatives across various sectors. Data were collected through personal interviews with the executives of the purchase department with the help of a structured questionnaire. The framework of analysis involves reliability analysis, factor analysis and correlation analysis. The research revealed that that the variables of supplier selection can be categorised into six factors namely supplier's reputation, efficiency, flexibility, growth rate, strength and responsiveness. The study further revealed the important factors of supplier selection and the impact of these factors on the firm's performance.
