In today's time, when we are in the era of globalisation, employee productivity is viewed as the keyword. Productive workers can certainly turnaround a loss-making organisation into a profit-earning organisation. They can provide the organisation with a competitive edge. If the employee productivity is valued in the organisations, the fruits of globalisation can be enjoyed. Poor governance is also accountable at times for low employee productivity. There may be a plethora of reasons responsible for low employee productivity. If it is purposefully managed, a lot of benefits, such as improved customer satisfaction and receptiveness, better competitiveness, improved job satisfaction, strong sense of accountability, enhanced level of morale and happiness and strong sense of belonging can be reaped. Organisations must strive to be continually concerned with their employees to guarantee their satisfaction and happiness, as satisfied workers can be happy workers and happy workers are productive workers.
